Editorial Standards

Guide to Peptide publishes information about therapeutic peptides. Because this is health-adjacent content with real consequences for readers, we publish our editorial process publicly so it can be audited.

What we cover

We cover peptide pharmacology, mechanisms, current research, and dosing protocols used in research and clinical settings. We do not provide medical advice. Every page that discusses dosing or clinical application includes a disclaimer to that effect.

What we don’t do

  • Recommend that anyone use research peptides outside of laboratory settings.
  • Market specific brands or vendors.
  • Present “miracle cure” framing for any peptide.
  • Republish content from other sources without rewriting, additional research, and proper citation.

Source hierarchy

Every claim on this site is sourced. Our hierarchy of evidence:

  1. Phase 3 randomized controlled trials (highest) — published in NEJM, Lancet, JAMA, BMJ, or specialty equivalents.
  2. Phase 2 RCTs and meta-analyses of multiple smaller trials.
  3. Phase 1 trials and well-conducted observational studies.
  4. Preclinical (rodent/in-vitro) research. Most “research peptide” coverage falls here.
  5. FDA prescribing information for approved drugs.
  6. Authoritative regulatory guidance (FDA, EMA, TGA, WADA).

When we cite research that is only animal or in-vitro, we say so explicitly.

Medical review

Any article that discusses therapeutic dosing of an FDA-approved peptide, adverse-event risk profiles, drug interactions, or patient selection criteria is reviewed by a credentialed clinician before publication.

Update cadence

We review every article at least once every 12 months. Major peptide articles (GLP-1, BPC-157, ipamorelin, semaglutide, tirzepatide, FDA-approved peptides) are reviewed every 6 months. Each article displays a “Last updated” date that reflects the most recent substantive review.
